Bridget Riley will be honored with the Sikkens Prize from the Sikkens Foundation, based in Sassenheim, the Netherlands, reports GalleristNY. The prize has been given every two years since 1959 to honor the “social, cultural, and scientific developments in society in which color plays a specific role.” Previous recipients include Donald Judd and Jan Dibbets. Riley will be awarded the prize by the Museum of Modern Art’s emeritus curator at large, John Elderfield, at a ceremony on October 28 at the Gemeentemuseum in the Hague.
