The First 'Bound' Ancient Chinese Book Exhibition has kicked off in the Xinhua Book Store in Shenyang of Liaoning Province.
All the bound books exhibited are categorized into two parts. One part dates back to the Qing Dynasty and Min Guo period, while the other part is newly bound ancient books produced with ancient book making techniques. The variety of newly bound books published over recent years numbers over 600.
During recent years with the rising cost of paper, the price of xuan paper has surged, adding significantly to the investment and collection value of these books.
Nowadays, more and more Chinese people send newly bound ancient books to their friends and relatives as gifts.
