Singapore, Tuesday October 6th:The organizers of Singapore Contemporary todayannounced a five-member Advisory Board comprising art experts and thought leaders T.K Quek, Michael Lee, Chiara Rosenblum, Arnaud Champenois and Jason Wee. The inaugural edition of the show will be held January 21 – 24, 2016, at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre.
“We are delighted to have the valuable input of such influential and qualified arts specialists on our Advisory Board, which we expect will make a very strong contribution in guiding the direction of Singapore Contemporary in 2016, and as we grow and develop in the years ahead,” said Show Director Douwe Cramer. “The Board will provide insights into the character of art and artists we should be curating, collector and buyer engagement, the genres preferred by Singaporean and Southeast Asia collectors to produce a really engaging show, and special projects and installation art.”

T.K. Quek
Architect, Art Advisor and Collector
Quek Tse Kwang is an architect by profession and is a co-founder and director of RT+Q Architects Pte Ltd. He served as an advisor to many Singapore art institutions including the Singapore Tyler Print Institute, the National Art Gallery of Singapore, the Singapore Art Museum and the Istana Art Collection. In addition T.K. is an international judge for the Tun Foundation’s annual Painting of the Year competition in Myanmar and serves on the art auction vetting committee for The Edge’s Malaysian auction events. In 2010, he published “30 Art Friends: Appreciating Southeast Asian Art”, followed by “Art Friends 2” in 2013.

Chiara Rosenblum
Collector
Art Collector Chiara Rosenblum was born in Paris, and now lives in Singapore. She studied at the Ecole du Louvre, and served as Editor-at-Large for the French contemporary art magazine “Be Contemporary” in 2007 and 2008. In 2010, Chiara co-founded the Rosenblum Collection & Friends with her husband Steve Rosenblum who is Chairman and co-founder of French online retailer PIXmania. She was awarded the 2014 Montblanc Prize for Culture & Art; is an art committee member of MuMo; and is a committee member of The Art of Collaboration event at Singapore Tyler Print Institute.

Michael Lee
Artist, Curator and Author
Michael Lee spends his time between Berlin and Singapore. He researches urban memory and fiction, especially the contexts and implications of loss. Michael has staged solo exhibitions at leading galleries in Germany, Hong Kong and Singapore; is a published author; has participated in numerous biennales and other international platforms; and has undertaken acclaimed curatorial projects including “Between, Beside, Beyond: Libeskind’s Reflections and Key Works 1989 – 2014” at the Singapore Art Museum in 2007. Michael’s many accolades include the APBF Signature Art Prize 2011 (People’s Choice Award), conferred by the Singapore Art Museum; and the Young Artist Award (Visual Arts) 2005, from the National Arts Council of Singapore. His works are held in the collections of the National Gallery, Singapore; the National University of Singapore Museum; and the Singapore Art Museum.

Arnaud Champenois
Brand Director, Luxury Marketing Expert,

Arnaud Champenois is passionate about arts, music, design, fashion and food. He is the Asia Pacific Senior Brand Director of leading lifestyle hospitality brands under Starwood Hotels & Resorts including St. Regis, The Luxury Collection, W Hotels and Le Méridien, based in Singapore. Frenchman Arnaud is a graduate of the famous French business school Ecole Des Hautes Etudes Commerciales. He has been involved in numerous important arts projects, and is currently working with more than 20 “Art Partners” in Asia-Pacific through the Le Meridien Unlock Art Program. Arnaud’s other projects have included collaboration with Jerome Sands (director of art institutes, critic, curator and founder of Palais de Tokyo in Paris); collaboration with the Shanghai Art Fair in 2013, and the Indian Art Fair 2013 to 2015; and the organization of art talks, tours and commissions with leading contemporary artists. Arnaud is also an enthusiastic private collector.

Jason Wee
Artist and Writer
Jason Wee completed a Master of Fine Arts in Photography at The New School in New York, before going on to found and run Grey Projects, an artist-directed alternative art space in Singapore. Jason’s work has been shown at the Chelsea Art Museum (New York), the Singapore Art Museum, Peers Gallery (New York), Photo New York, PS122 Gallery (New York), the Asian-American Art Centre and Art Seasons Gallery (Singapore). His large-scale installation “1987” was exhibited at the 1st Singapore Biennale in 2006.
